06/04/2010 Dover / London - an incontinent air conditioning, an asthmatic bus driver and the red and gold hell
white chalk cliffs and clear blue sky - to believe, but we are actually in the UK (No rain, no fog and spring-like temperatures)?
The Port of Dover is very idyllic - an impression that the clouds of bad need of renovation Cruise Terminal something. Promptly at 8:30 it goes into one of the many buses to London - we can catch bus number 19, belonging to Dov04 trip.
About 2 hours drive is required for the route to London - it would probably be faster to the finish, when Aida Cruises his guests on this trip would not settle at the end of the city at Hanover Square, but perhaps better at the Tower from the Tube Station Tower Hill. But then we end up right in the shopping district between Berwick Street and Oxford Street. A starting point, which is actually really only for shopping Victims and experts from London's advantage. Who has never been to London should definitely book another trip, for Tower, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Westminster, Buckingham Palace and Co can be reached from here to actually not ideal. Especially since the so-called map, which is obtained only a small part of London contains, namely only the local area shopping district ... said of the famous London landmarks was there not a single on it. I felt a little sorry for the guests who have never been to London before and had to just to see those places.
But our goal (or that of our children, we should regret our decision quickly) was anyway another and in this place we were so right: The biggest London toy shop Hamleys. Even at our last stay we had our kids promised a visit there and now we had no excuse: we had in the "red-golden sparkling hell" - a toy heaven for hardcore shoppers, here there is nothing that does not exist and almost everything is presented and must be tried.
Well, much of London, we were no longer visible on that day .... but our kids took a trip super (the sightseeing program they had already completed in the fall).
ended after a visit to Harrods and Oxford Circus tube station closed at noon our day out Therefore, with a fairly long walk from the nearest underground station on Oxford Street again at Hanover Square.
from the air conditioning on the bus dripped it in a tour - and we hoped fervently that the air conditioning was not connected somehow to the Bustoilette o) - a distance of 15 minutes had the bus driver ever with asthma medicine to breathe freely give what the return some adventurous style gave.
After we finally were able to enjoy on board the phasing out in glorious weather strengthened including Gänsehautfeeling, we are in the brewery. At this point his Nadine and Jana from the brewery team honorable mention. The included and served meals there saved and the battle at the buffet in the other restaurants and it was delicious to boot: o)! For our nightly ritual
cocktail at the Blu Bar has become. With live jazz and blues to the kids every night now order their "Strawberry Caipirinha" and "Tutti-Frutti" and then right back to sizzle with new found friends ... In the flyby we get them back and see again ... how much that can go on the ship not lost.
